Reflection- describing criteria for learning

Today I learned that team 14 are really great at writing specific criteria for our leadership rubric. I had a conversation with Miranda about how this rubric fits into the Fendalton Key Competencies. We talked about how leadership is perhaps something that crosses throughout all of the competencies which I found very interesting.

Because of this learning I now want to see what team 14 think about this when I present the competency diagram to them in the coming weeks. I'm interested to find out what they think about this.

The next step in my learning is to help team 14 write specific criteria that they can measure (ie. behaviours) in their rubrics and to help them write their own rubric as individuals. I've had a great week and am loving getting to knoww the team. What a lot of potential we have!

Reflection- being an effective leader and making rubrics

Today I learned that team 14 have some awesome ideas for what it means to be an effective leader. We started using a rubric generator which I got from a teaching buddy in London, and it is an excellent tool for helping students learn to structure out the domains and criteria for each domain, for a rubric.

Many of the ideas generated fit perfectly into the new competencies we are developing as the Fendalton School model which is also exciting!

Because of this learning I now know that this rubric generator works and I'm looking forward to seeing individuals in team 14 create their own rubrics later on for other aspects of their learning, such as writing, reading and teamwork.

The next step in my learning is to ensure that I provide adequate time and quality guidance when we finalise our rubric for what makes a great leader. This is exciting and I'm really enjoying the start to the year!!!

Reflection- Multiple Intelligences

Today I learned about many of the strengths and talents of everyone in team 14. Emma shared the idea when we were talking about MI that there might be other categories that do not fit within the pie chart as we have it. Another great idea that was shared was that some skills/talents may fit across a range of intelligences, for example: a successful builder might have to be very logic smart as well as very people smart.

Because of this learning I now understand the strengths and talents of the team. This will help me to design great learning experiences for them.

The next step in my learning is to discover even more about everyone in team 14 so we can build a great class community.
